Non-public Economy Accounts for 60% of Hunan GDP

  The value added in non-public economy increased 8.7% year on year to over 1.873 trillion yuan, accounting for 60.0% of Hunan’s GDP in 2016, according to the latest data released by the Statistics Bureau of Hunan Province on Feb. 13, 2017.

  In 2016, the value added in non-public economy accounted for 22.6%, 74.5%, and 56.0% of the primary industry, secondary industry, and tertiary industry respectively. The proportions of non-public sector in the primary industry and secondary industry rose by 0.7 and 2.0 percentage points over the previous year.

  In 2016, the value added in non-public industrial enterprises increased 8.0% year on year to over 877 billion yuan, 1.4 percentage points higher than the provincial industrial growth rate, accounting for 78.5% of the total industrial added value of Hunan, or 2.5 percentage points higher than last year. The profit of non-public industrial enterprises above designated size amounted to over 134.8 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 2.9% and accounting for 83.2% of the provincial total in this regard.

  Data showed that the total actual completed investment of the non-public economy increased 11.4% year on year to 1.812 trillion yuan in 2016, accounting for 65.5% of the province total. The actual taxes paid by non-public industrial enterprises rose 2.7% year on year to over 165.7 billion yuan, accounting for 53.6% of the provincial total and 0.1 percentage point higher than the previous year.
