The Second Hunan Provincial People’s Hospital opened its medical aid post via online hospital to the local villages of Shuanglong Town, Huayuan County, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture recently, to provide convenient online medical services.

Via online video, doctors in Changsha made a “face to face” communication with local patients. Based on that, they then guided local doctors to do relevant physical checks and write out prescriptions for them. The whole process for the patient to receive medical treatment was fast and convenient.

It was the first time for the Second Hunan Provincial People’s Hospital to establish its online medical aid post at a village clinic in remote areas. In the future, more than 900 villagers of 250 households are expected to enjoy direct diagnosis and treatment from provincial experts.

“Helping the village clinic establish remote consultation system freely is just one of ‘targeted medical aided poverty alleviation’ program in our hospital”, said Zhou Qi, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the Second Hunan Provincial People's Hospital, adding that the hospital will use its advanced medical technology to help township health clinics improve medical techniques and management, and offer free study opportunities for local medical staff. Meanwhile, patients who suffer from dangerous, urgent, difficult, and severe diseases will get green access to have the most convenient and efficient medical services promptly, and medical experts will be organized regularly to provide free medical care and health lectures for the villagers.
