Hunan’s GDP Ranks Ninth Nationwide, Exceeds Three Trillion Yuan in 2016

  The GDP aggregate rankings of 31 Chinese provincial-level regions in 2016 have been revealed recently, nine of which surpassed three trillion yuan. Of which, Hunan Province achieved a GDP aggregate of 3.12 trillion yuan, a breakthrough of surmounting three trillion yuan for the first time and ranked ninth nationwide.

  Statistics show that the number of regions with a greater GDP aggregate of over three trillion has increased to nine, comparing with last year’s six of Guangdong, Jiangsu, Shandong, Zhejiang, Henan, Sichuan. The newly added were Hubei, Hebei, and Hunan. Besides, the top ten regions with the highest economic aggregate annually all have had a GDP growth rate of 7.5% since 2014, except for Liaoning.

  Guangdong, Jiangsu, and Shandong topped the economic aggregate list of Chinese mainland's 31 provincial-level regions, while Tibet, Chongqing, and Guizhou maintained double-digit GDP growth.
