Governor Xu Meets with Coca-Cola Chairman Muhtar Kent

　　Hunan Governor Xu Dazhe met with Coca-Cola Company chairman Muhtar Kent and COFCO Corporation (China National Cereals, Oils and Foodstuffs Corporation) chairman Zhao Shuanglian in Changsha on the afternoon of April 10, 2017. They were here to attend the commissioning ceremony of the COFCO Coca-Cola Huazhong Beverages Limited facility.

　　Xu talked about Hunan’s advantageous location, plentiful natural resources, and promising economic and social developing trends. The province is now taking advantages of the great opportunities of the “Belt and Road” initiative, the Yangtze River Economic Belt construction, and the rise of central China strategy to implement innovation-oriented global opening up. It aims to strengthen sci-tech innovation, expand opening up, and promote region-based tourism, so as to build a powerful, beautiful, and happy new Hunan through economic, scientific, educational, cultural, ecological advances and opening up.

　　Coca-Cola and COFCO are world-renowned enterprises, Xu said, adding that both have maintained long-term close cooperative relations with Hunan. He expected the two companies to introduce their advanced management and marketing experience to Hunan while continuing present projects operating. He sincerely welcomed Coca-Cola and COFCO to publicize Hunan to the world and assist its economic and social growth to realize mutual benefits.

　　Muhtar Kent believed that Coca-Cola will take its official operation as a new starting point to expand into the Hunan market and products supply. He promised to cooperate with local enterprises and strive to achieve further progress.
