Zhou Dunyi’s 1,000th Anniversary on World Reading Day

“道南正脉千年纪”——纪念周敦颐诞辰1000周年“4.23世界读书日”广场活动在湖南图书馆举行。

　　Zhou Dunyi’s 1,000th Anniversary event was held at Hunan Library on April 23, the World Reading Day.

湖南省政协副主席、省文联主席欧阳斌（中）等领导将“四水一湖”（湘水、资水、沅水、澧水、洞庭湖）所取之水，共同注入金黄色鼎中，象征着湖湘文化的寻根、溯源、回归之旅。

　　Ouyang Bin (middle), vice-chairman of the CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee and chairman of Hunan Literary Federation was pouring water drawned from Xiang River, Zishui River, Yuan River, Lishui River, Dongting Lake into the golden vessel, which symbolized seeking the root of Hunan culture.

湖湘历史文化名人如周敦颐、王夫之、魏源、陶澍、曾国藩、谭嗣同等的巨幅喷绘画像。

　　Large paintings of Hunan historical cultural figures such as Zhou Dunyi, Wang Fuzhi, Wei Yuan, Tao Shu, Zeng Guofan, Tan Sitong, etc.

老、青、幼三代同台，共同朗诵周敦颐著述的《太极图说》。

　　The old and the young were reading Diagram of the Universe written by Zhou Dunyi.

“湘水余波 濂溪一脉”——周敦颐诞辰1000周年纪念展览已面向读者免费开放，展期为4月23日至6月5日。

　　The exhibition for Zhou Dunyi’s 1,000th Anniversary has been opened in public from April 23th to June 5th.
