CDB Hunan Branch Assists Hunan in Poverty Alleviation

　　China Development Bank (CDB) Hunan Branch held a conference on Development Financing Serving Hunan Poverty Alleviation Work &Funds Efficiency Utilization Training in Changsha on May 10, 2017. Vice Governor Dai Daojin attended the conference and delivered a speech.

　　The CDB Hunan Branch is the one that invested the most among all the financial institutions on Hunan’s poverty reduction. It has credited 87.7 billion yuan to the targeted poverty alleviation loans with a total capital of 28 billion yuan since 2016. This year, the bank will implement the central and provincial new requirements on poverty alleviation as follows:

　　1. Accelerate major poverty alleviation projects, including relocating the poor, renovating the impoverished villages, improving education, and providing better healthcare to help shake off poverty;

　　2. Optimize working approach such as enhancing county-level overall poverty relief task;

　　3. Improve the development financing poverty alleviation work system to promote effective integration of poverty alleviation resources and improve the overall poverty alleviation efficiency;

　　4. Make innovative financing model and actively guide social capital to invest in poverty alleviation.

　　Vice Governor Dai pointed out that all government levels should attach great importance to financing institutions’ support for the fight against poverty and make good use of them. Dai asked governments at all levels to strengthen their principal responsibilities, enhance exchanges with financial institutions such as CDB, improve government service functions, and reinforce the financial poverty alleviation service system. Efforts should be made to solve outstanding problems, implement safeguard measures, and upgrade poverty alleviation, he added.
