On May 10, He Juan, a provincial cultural heritage inheritor of Dabujiang embroidered patchwork, was awarded an order worth 200,000 yuan through the annual Exposition Internationale held at the Paris expo Porte de Versailles.

The on-going Exposition Internationale displays 3,500 brands, and organizes more than 20 exchange activities.

Hunan pavilion was set up in the “Riches of the World” area that is themed on “World Culture and Arts”. Numerous visitors were attracted by Hunan’s exhibits, including handicrafts, works of art, cultural creations, and folk costumes and accessories.

In order to promote Hunan’s intangible cultural heritages, artwares, and tourism products to the European market, the Hunan Department of Commerce organized well-known enterprises across the province to participate in the event. Dabujiang embroidered patchwork is the only representative sent by Chenzhou City.

Dabujiang embroidered patchwork has been introduced for many times to Australian and French markets through cultural exchanges and exhibitions. And commercial agreements on the patchwork have also been signed with UK and French partners.

Until now, He Juan has trained more than 2,000 embroiderers. She helped more than 300 women work near their homes. The highest income of these workers can even reach over 6,000 yuan.
