The sage's teaching "While one's parents are alive, he may not go abroad to a distance" has been regarded as one of Chinese traditions, but nowadays going abroad has become normal for many people. As Hunan province becomes more international, many foreigners live here now. Rednet interviewed some of them for their Father's Day in Changsha.

A: I usually buy some gifts for dad, hanging out with him, sometimes fishing, sometimes going out in restaurant, and then we visit my grandpa.

Q: When you were with your father, what impress you most?

When I was little, mum was my best friend, my dad was so rigid one. After my mum is gone, my dad became my best friend. We make decisions and plans together. I also have a Chinese dad, we've known each other for 5 years, he treats me as his own. Every time I go back to my home, we still keep contact. I am happy for having two dads.

Q3: What will you say to your father?

I wish my father has a healthy life and happy life, same to my Chinese dad.I love them so much more than myself.I wish I can do something for them.

  Ben, a father from U.S.

Q: In your country, what do you usually do in Father’s Day?

A: For father's day, we usually make our father a small gift, like a card or some kind of picture to let him know he is special. Then we will usually have a special lunch for him, eating food that men often enjoy like BBQ.

Q: What do you do for expressing your love to your father, after you've been in China?

After I have lived in China, I video chat with my dad every week to share what is happening. I will also bring him back gifts in the summer of fun things we found when traveling. We will also go on a hike together to talk when I go back to visit him.

Q:Since you became a father, what would you do in Father’s Day? Anything changed?

After becoming a father, I appreciate being remembered for the work I do as a father, but don't feel the need to have a special day for it. I would prefer to have people say thank you or do small things throughout the year, not just the one day everyone else is doing it.

Q: What impress you most when you are with your kids ?

A: My favorite memory with my son is when I am with him and he is discovering something out on his own. At first he seems nervous and runs to me for support. Then I can encourage him and he will try again on his own.

As my daughter is only one month old, my favorite memories with her are when she just feels safe and takes a nap in my arms.
