The wick-shaped pastry, looking like a wick, is one of favorite traditional pastries in Changsha. Originated from the reign of Emperor Jiaqing, Qing Dynasty, it has last for more than 200 years, known for the story about a loving mother and her filial son. The wick-shaped pastry is made of glutinous rice flour, white sugar, cinnamon oil, etc. Because of cinnamon oil contained, it is flammable.
