Secretary Du met Chinese American biopharmaceutical scientists and entrepreneurs

　　7月8日，生物医药产业调研座谈会在长沙举行。美国加州华人生物医药技术与医药创业家协会会长、拜耳制药首席科学家、副总裁刘胜江等19名美国华人生物医药科学家、企业家代表参加座谈。座谈会前，湖南省委书记、省人大常委会主任杜家毫会见了代表团一行。

　　A biopharmaceutics symposium was held in Changsha on July 8, 2017. A 19-member delegation of Chinese American biopharmaceutical scientists and entrepreneurs headed by Liu Shengjiang, Chairman of California Chinese Biotech/Biopharmaceutical Entrepreneur Association, Principal Scientist and Vice President of Bayer AG. Du Jiahao, Secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and Director of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People’s Congress, met the delegates before the conference.

　　美国华人生物医药科学家、企业家代表此行来湘主要是考察生物医药产业及湖南健康产业园发展建设情况。代表团此行充分感受到了湖南在这一领域的发展潜力，愿以实际行动助力湖南生物医药产业发展，希望相关部门给予更多政策和资金支持。

　　The delegation’s Hunan tour aimed to investigate Hunan province’s biopharmaceutical sector and health industry. Liu Shengjiang on behalf of the delegation promised full supports to Hunan’s biopharmaceutical development. He hoped that the governmental departments will give them more policy and financial support.

　　杜家毫说，目前长沙、湘潭等地正在建设一批生物医药产业园区和基地，热忱欢迎海外生物医药科学家、企业家来湘创业发展，在湘设立企业分支机构。湖南将不断完善政策环境，优化服务环境，为包括海外生物医药科学家、企业家在内的创业者提供更加优质的“土壤”。

　　Secretary Du extended warm welcome to the guests and noted “Biopharmaceutical industrial parks and bases are under construction in Changsha and Xiangtan. We sincerely welcome overseas biopharmaceutical scientists and entrepreneurs to set up branches in Hunan.” “Hunan will continue to optimize environment for them.” Du added.
