On July 19, the twelfth State Council inspection team inspected the National Supercomputing Center (the Center) in Changsha. Before the inspection, CPC Hunan Provincial Committee Secretary and Hunan Provincial Congress Standing Committee Director Du Jiahao met with the team leader Ni Hong, vice minister of Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. Provincial leaders Chen Xiangqun and Xie Jianhui attended.

Secretary Du, on behalf of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the People’s Government of Hunan Province, welcomed the inspection team to Hunan, and thanked the central ministries and commissions for their long-term support for Hunan’s reform and development. He believed the State Council inspections in recent years serve as a comprehensive “physical examination” for Hunan’s economic and social development. “They greatly supervise and promote the reform, development, and stability of the province.” He added.

Vice Minister Ni Hong learned about the application of construction industry informatization at the Center, and convened a symposium to listen to business and entrepreneur representatives’ suggestions. The Center uses “Tianhe One” as the main computing equipment, whose computing power reaches 1,372 trillion times per second. There are more than 320 long-term users, and the CPU utilization rate is more than 80%. With the support of the Center, the Hunan Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development has established a provincial platform to promote the Building Information Model (BIM) technology and a basic database “Tianhe Micro Cloud”. Meanwhile, a unified information system has been established to manage construction drawings and implement paperless office, which has effectively reduced costs and improved the supervision efficiency and intensity.
