Liu Yunshan Visits Hunan Pavilion at 24th Beijing International Book Fair

　　CPC Central Committee Political Bureau Standing Committee member and CPC Central Committee Secretariat Secretary Liu Yunshan visited the 24th Beijing International Book Fair on August 24, 2017. He also inspected Hunan Pavilion and praised the publishers’ achievements.

　　Hunan delegation, led by the China South Publishing &Media Group, presented more than 500 books as “Hunan boutique books” at the Pavilion. Meanwhile, the copyright output has become one of the Hunan publishers’ highlights this year, including nearly 100 species of prints. Moreover, Hunan publishing houses have committed to publishing foreign language books. Their own foreign versions have been directly sold to the overseas target markets, at the local currency pricing.

　　The “Chinese children’s book introducing to Sri Lanka – Hunan Children's Publishing House and Neptune Publishing House New Sinhalese Book Press Conference” and the “Best-selling author Zhang Jiajia’s signing ceremony” were held on the same day. The first batch of about 40 kinds of children's books made debut. They are published by the Sri Lanka Neptune Publishing House, with the copyright exported by the Hunan Children's Publishing House. This China-Sri Lanka cooperation marks another milestone for the friendship establishment.

　　Liu said, “Publishers should pay more attention to content and improve their abilities in international communication to maintain the prosperous development of the industry.” “The top priorities for China's publication industry at present are to publish high-quality works and create a good atmosphere ahead of the 19th CPC National Congress.” He added. He also asked publishers to carry forward the spirit of innovation, deepen industrial reform, and integrate traditional methods with digital publication.

　　The book fair, which runs from Aug. 23 to 27, has attracted 2,511 exhibitors at home and abroad.
