11th NEAR Working Committee Meeting Held in Zhangjiajie

  The Association of North East Asia Regional Governments (NEAR) held its 11th Working Committee Meeting &2017 NEAR International Forum in Zhangjiajie on Sept. 26, 2017.

  NEAR Secretary-General Jong-kyoung Hong, and CPC Hunan Provincial Standing Committee member and Hunan Executive Vice Governor Chen Xiangqun addressed the opening ceremony.

  The meeting aimed to enhance international industrial capacity cooperation and promote Northeast Asia development.

  The NEAR has 77 member regional governments of 6 countries, namely, China, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Mongolia, and North Korea. The population concerned reached nearly 900 million.

  Jong-kyoung Hong appreciated Hunan’s support to the meeting. He hoped to promote multilateral communication and cooperation in NEAR affairs and development, and industrial capacity cooperation in the areas of engineering machinery, agriculture, metallurgy, and manufacturing, so as to contribute to the Northeast Asia development.

  Mr. Chen said that Hunan, since joining the NEAR in 2006, has closely collaborated with the partners in economy, culture, environmental protection, science and technology, and education, and harvested remarkable achievements.

  Last September, Hunan was selected the chairman member regional government of the 11th NEAR Working Committee. Northeast Asia, one of the most rapidly developing and potential areas in the world, is complementary to Hunan. Chen expected to expand cooperation with all parties and encourage enterprises to develop bilateral and multilateral investment, so as to complement each other’s advantages and achieve win-win results.
