2017 Pan-Pearl River Delta Regional Cooperation Chief Executive Joint Conference Opens in Changsha

The 2017 Pan-Pearl River Delta Regional Cooperation Chief Executive Joint Conference was launched in Changsha on Sept. 25.

　　Hunan Governor Xu Dazhe presided over the conference. The presenting chief executives from nine provinces (region) and two special administration regions in the Pan-Pearl River Delta (Pan-PRD) included: Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) Chief Executive Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, Macao SAR Chief Executive Chui Sai, Fujian Governor Yu Weiguo, Jiangxi Governor Liu Qi, Guangdong Governor Ma Xingrui, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Chairman Chen Wu, Hainan Governor Shen Xiaoming, Sichuan Governor Yin Li, Guizhou Governor Chen Yiqin, and Yunnan Governor Ruan Chengfa.

　　The chief executives will discuss on four topics:

　　First, enhancing the Pan-PRD connectivity, to facilitate the National “Belt and Road” Initiative implementation;

　　Second, jointly constructing the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to give greater impetus to the Pan-PRD area development;

　　Third, deepening sci-tech innovation cooperation and promoting industrial integrated development, to advance the industrial upgrades in the Pan-PRD area; and,

　　Fourth, intensifying watershed environmental protection based on an integrated and collaborative mechanism, to promote ecological progress.

　　Beyond that, they will exchange views on the Pan-PRD High-speed Rail Economic Belt construction and the Pan-PRD Cooperation Foundation establishment.
