Numerous Lobster Flowers First Discovered at Qiyunfeng National Forest Park
Clumps of lobster flowers (a species of impatiens) are found at Qiyunfeng National Forest Park in Hunan on 9 October, 2017. It is one of the oldest types of flowers dating back to hundreds of millions of years, with little change in shape. Its lobster-shaped flower earned itself the nick name, boasting the title of “living fossil”. According to statistics, there are more than 100,000 strains of such flowers in the Park currently.
