According to statistics from the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection, and Quarantine, the Hunan Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau issued 60,443 certificates of origin (O/Cs) between January and September, worth more than $2.6 billion. The two figures increased 39.88% and 49.4% respectively over the same period last year. Hunan took the lead nationwide in the number of issued certificates. A total of 41,804 Free Trade Agreement (FTA) O/Cs were issued, worth more than $1.9 billion. These certificates cut more than $97 million in exporter costs.
During the first nine months, Hunan saw the largest increase of 614.29% in FTA O/Cs to New Zealand, with the certificates worth increasing by 2120.52%. And, 10,555 FTA O/Cs were issued to Pakistan, worth $471 million. The figures increased 177.33% and 112.17% year on year respectively. The number of FTA O/Cs issued to Costa Rica doubled.
