On November 3, the Changde Municipal People’s Government signed a framework agreement on Sino-German industrial cooperation with the Hanover government and the Institute for Automation and Industrial Technology respectively in Hanover, Germany. In the future, more German enterprises will invest in Changde.

Changde and Hanover are sister cities. Hanover City, the birthplace of famous inventor Werner Von Siemens, has a highly developed industrial manufacturing. It is a hub for automobile, machinery, electronics and other industries in Germany.

The signed framework agreement is expected to deepen cooperation between the two cities in three aspects: to set up a German small- and middle-sized enterprises (SMEs) industrial park; to mutually establish centers to promote each other's projects; and, to build a trading platform for science, technology, and industry.

The German SMEs industrial park will be set up in Changde, introducing German high-end manufacturing technology, equipment, and personnel. It will focus on construction of five centers, including Sino-German science and technology trading center for enterprises, universities and research institutes, intelligent manufacturing technology exhibition and incubator, and German green standard demonstration plant.

On November 3, Chinese and German representatives held the inaugural ceremony for the soon-to-be-established Changde Center in Hanover. The Changde Center subordinated to Changde Economic Construction Investment Group will become the window and channel for German enterprises to invest in China through investment promotion, overseas inspection, and cultural exchange.
