SAIC, Hunan Government Join Hands in University Development

  On March 2, the State Administration for Industry & Commerce (SAIC) and the Hunan Provincial People’s Government signed in Beijing an agreement to jointly develop Hunan University of Technology (HUT). SAIC Deputy Director Gan Lin and Hunan Vice Governor Wu Guiying signed the agreement on behalf of the both sides.

  The joint agreement aims to implement the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress, vigorously promote advertising strategy, better serve the sectors and regional economic and social development, deepen the development of a system of technological innovation in which the efforts of enterprises, universities and research institutes in packing and advertising are integrated, strengthen the cultivation of packing and advertising talents, and speed up the commercialization of innovative achievements.

  Under the agreement, the SAIC will give its support and guidance to the construction of the HUT and take effective measures to promote the university’s reform and innovation, so as to make HUT play a better guiding role in higher education.

  The HUT will receive more support in following aspects:

  Developing "Green Package and Safety" doctoral training program and applying to be an accredited university that offers PhD degrees;

  Building the "National Research Base for Packaging and Advertising";

  Responding to "Double First-Class" initiative;

  Applying for national development plan, talent plan, scientific and research projects, and key laboratories construction;

  Participating in research and formulation of standards related to packaging and advertising, and;

  Holding exchange, seminars and cooperation activities in the field of packaging and advertising.

  The Hunan government will take effective measures to further support the construction of the university, and give support to consolidate the foundation for school running, new campus building, and teaching conditions improvement. It will guide the university in developing competitive disciplines and brand majors, and deepen its internal governance in an all-round way to promote the construction of a modern university system.
