Zhijiang and Kirovsky Sign Sister City Agreement

　　A sister city agreement was signed by the head of Zhijiang Dong Autonomous County of Hunan Province and Mayor of Kirovsky of Leningrad Oblast, Russia on the evening of Sept. 4, marking the official establishment of the sister city ties between this two cities.

　　Kirovsky, located in Leningrad Oblast of Russia, is renowned as the battlefield of the famous Siege of Leningrad (1941-1943) during the WWⅡ, which was recognized as the turning point of the European battlefield and the World Anti-Fascist War. Meanwhile, Zhijiang where Chinese army accepted the surrender of the Japanese in 1945, marked the overall lose of the Japanese aggression against China. Thanks to the liaison of the Hunan People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (HPAFFC) and the Saint-Petersburg Chinese Association as well as international peace-loving people, this two cities finally reached the agreement on sister city ties.

　　Upon the agreement, both sides will communicate and exchange on culture, education, tourism, trade and agriculture.
