Hunan to Speed up Supply and Marketing Cooperative Development

　　The launching ceremony of supply and marketing integrated service platform of Hunan Province Supply and Marketing Cooperatives and the training class on its operation were held on the morning of Sept. 17.

　　Establishing the platform is an important measure for the cooperatives to advance the project on building a farmer-benefited comprehensive service system, and integrating social resources to expand modern information service, modern logistics and inclusive finance services in rural areas. It aims to extent services from circulation to a system whereby various sectors of society provide services for agriculture, and to overall service for urban and rural communities.

　　According to the plan, service companies for farmers’ benefits will be set up in county-level cities or above, related service centers in towns, and offices in villages. The cooperatives strive to build a comprehensive platform integrating services of logistics, information and finance to support and benefit agriculture, rural areas, and farmers. Hunan’s supply and marketing cooperative system injected up to 510 million yuan in overhaul and construction of primary-leveled organizations in 2014. Great progress has been made in various fields, including service projects that benefit farmers pushed forward steady, primary-level organizations resumed gradually and service functions increased.
