A B-737 cargo plane (Flight O36847) of SF Airlines carrying products of Lens Technology took off from Changsha Huanghua international Airport to Hong Kong at 18:45 on Dec. 7, marking the launch of the first regular cargo flight connecting Chinese mainland’s Hunan to Hong Kong.

As from Dec. 7, a B-737 aircraft with a load capacity of around 13 tons will make one cargo flight from Hunan to Hong Kong every week, taking about one and a half hours.

At present, the major international logistics channel is dependent on road and water transportation. For land transport, there are Hunan-Europe International Freight Trains, “five-fixed freight train” (with fixed arrival and departure stations, railway routes, operation numbers, arrival and departure times and fares) linking Changsha and Shenzhen as well as “five-fixed freight trains” from Liling, Hengyang and Chenzhou to Guangdong. In terms of waterway, there are “five-fixed freight liners” from Chenglingji Port, Xia’ning Port to Zhangjiagang, Shanghai and Ningbo, and regular liner from Chenglingji Port to Hong Kong. Thanks to the opening of the new regular cargo route, a three-dimensional cargo transport system involving water, land and air is taking shape.
