120 Electric Energy Projects Fuel Eco Construction

A total of 120 electric energy substitution projects were launched by the Yueyang Power Supply Company of the State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC), generating about 320 million kwh of electricity. The move greatly helps to save energy and reduce emissions while promoting sustainable development.

The company investigated the market to prioritize customers’ energy demands and firmly pushed forward these projects by installing electric kilns and heat pumps in mining enterprises that are engaged in ceramics, cement and petrochemicals. For example, they have implemented berthing program on replacing oil with electricity in Chenglingji international port, rolled out advanced electric heating technologies such as electrothermal film in schools and residential areas, and increased proportion of renewable fuels in energy end-use.

Up to the early December, 2015, 31 reserve projects to produce about two billion kwh of electricity were established by 10 county-level power supply companies of Yueyang, 7 of which completed feasibility analysis.

The Yueyang Power Supply Company pushes the municipal government to incorporate electric energy substitution into its air pollution control system, energy development program and urban development planning and to issue supporting policies on environmental protection, subsidy and electricity tariff. The company has organized various public-welfare publicity campaigns across the city to educate people about clean energy.
