Hunan GDP Growth Beats National Average

　　Hunan has achieved a stable performance in 2015 while at the same time securing progress in its economic and social development, summarized by Zhang Shiping, director of the Hunan Provincial Bureau of Statistics, at the press conference on Jan. 21st. The gross regional product (GRP) of the province reached 2904.72 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 8.6%, and 1.7 points higher than average growth rate of the country. A steady growth over 8.5% has been maintained in three consecutive quarters.

　　In 2015, the primary industry witnessed a value added of 333.16 billion, up 3.6%; the secondary industry realized that of 1295.54 billion, an increase of 7.4%; while the tertiary industry 1276.02 billion, rising by 11.2%.

　　Domestic demands have been steadily expanded in three aspects: first, investment has boomed, with fixed asset investment reaching 2595.43 billion yuan, up 18.2%; second, consumption has grown to prosper, with the total retail sales of consumer goods topping 1202.4 billion yuan, up12.1%, (12.2% in real terms, 0.3 points higher than the previous year); third, real estate industry saw a recovery, with 63.63 million sqms commercial housing sale for 273.89 billion yuan, up 17% and 19.1% respectively.
