Steady Development of Hunan’s Information Industry

The added value created by Hunan’s information industry above quota limit in 2015 exceeded 108 billion yuan, with its share of the total provincial GDP increased 0.1% to 3.7% from a year earlier.

 

The electronic equipment manufacturing industry took the lead in information enterprises above designated size.

 

In 2015, the value added of electronic equipment manufacturing enterprises above designated size in Hunan hit over 83 billion yuan, occupying 76.4% of the total profits generated by information industry above designated size; the value added of electronic information transmission industry stood at 22 billion yuan, accounting for 20.4% of the total profits; the value added of computer service and software industry reached more than 2.4 billion yuan, taking up 2.2% of the total profits; the value added produced from the sales and lease of electronic information equipment were one billion yuan, or about 0.9% of the total profits.

 

Information industry above quota limit saw imbalanced development in Hunan’s 13 cities and one prefecture.

 

The value added of information industry above quota limit of Changsha, Chenzhou, Zhuzhou, Xiangtan, Hengyang and Yueyang reached over 45 billion yuan, 11 billion yuan, 10 billion yuan, 0.8 billion yuan and 6.4 billion yuan respectively. The total value added of the six cities accounted for 81.8% of the total profits. The value added of the other 7 cities and one prefecture totaled 6 billion yuan.

 

The value added of information industry above quota limit of Changsha, Chenzhou, Xiangtan, Zhuzhou and Yiyang took up 5.7%, 5.5%, 5.0%, 4.5% and 4.1% of each city’s GDP respectively, higher than the provincial average.
