Eight Xiang Operas to Be Staged in Beijing

Beijing opera “Xin Zhui” of Hunan Beijing Opera Protection and Heritage Center

　　Eight excellent dramas selected from the Fifth Hunan Arts Festival will be performed in Beijing from late August to early September, to promote Hunan’s art creations in recent three years to the local people, as released by the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture on April 12, 2016.

　　The representative dramas are Xiang Opera “The Moon” performed by Hunan Gordon Theatre, Flower-drum Opera “I am Ma Cuihua” performed by Hunan Flower-drum Opera Protection and Heritage Center, Beijing opera “Xin Zhui” performed by Hunan Beijing Opera Protection and Heritage Center, Dance Drama “Peach Blossom Land” performed by Hunan Province Song & Dance Theatre Co., Ltd., Flower-drum Opera “Qi Baishi" performed by Xiangtan Art Theatre Co., Ltd., Baling Opera “Far Beyond Imperial Court” performed by Yueyang Baling Opera Heritage and Research Institute, Han Opera “Legend of Meng Jiangnv” performed by Changde Han Opera Protection Center, and Musical “Angel Choir” performed by Zhuzhou Opera Heritage Center.
