At the invitation of the United Nations, Jiangyong Nvshu (women's script), China’s intangible cultural heritage, will make its debut on UN Chinese Language Day in Geneva on April 19, to showcase its unique charm to the world. This will be the second time for Nvshu to demonstrate itself in the international arena following the first time in the USA. Nvshu was chosen to be China’s only intangible cultural heritage item that will be exhibited at the event. Inheritors of Nvshu, Hu Xin and Pu Lijuan by then will display Nvshu culture and customs, write Nvshu characters, and sing songs that were made and sang only by women in local language, to visitors from around the world. Nvshu is a rare Chinese syllabic script used exclusively amongst women in Jiangyong County of Hunan Province. It is known as a gem of world culture.
