In 2017, the Hunan Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau has issued 85,000 certificates of origin (C/O) valued at 3.78 billion USD, registering year-on-year increase of 41.7% and 49.8%. This growth ranks 2nd nationwide, and has been among the national top for five consecutive years.

The free trade agreement C/Os amounted to 58,000, an increase of 62.5%. Tariffs to the importing countries have been reduced by 150 million USD for the involved Hunan enterprises.

The largest growths were seen in the trade between China and New Zealand, increasing by 689%; China and South Korea, increasing by 133.3%; and, China and Pakistan, increasing by 86%.

Increasingly C/Os were issued to telecommunications, equipment, steel products, and lighters. That shows Hunan’s equipment manufacturing, international production capacity cooperation, and labor-intensive industries were benefited the most from the free trade agreement.

The Hunan Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau implemented a series of supporting measures to the C/O applicants. One-to-one and targeted services were provided for 100 enterprises. It also streamlined administration and delegated powers to facilitate the application procedures for Hunan enterprises.
