OCT Cultural Tourism Project Starts Construction in Hengyang

　　On the morning of November 10, the Overseas Chinese Town (OCT) Group launched its comprehensive cultural tourism project in Hengyang.

　　The 13 square-kilometer project park with 50 billion yuan of rolling investment is expected to be completed in 8 years. By then, it should be the cultural, touristic and commercial hub of Hengyang. The first phase of the project includes renovating Laiyan Pagoda, the Riverside Scenic Belt, and the Urban Planning Museum. After that, a 15 billion yuan comprehensive cultural tourism project in Yumushan Town will be developed.

　　The OTC comprehensive cultural tourism project is one of the key projects of “100 billion-yuan Industrial Cluster”in Hengyang. Located at the confluence of Xiangjiang, Zhengshui, and Leishui Rivers, the project has convenient land, air, and water transportation access. It also possesses high-quality cultural resources such as the Shigu Academy and Laiyan Pagoda, which will make Hengyang even more attractive.

　　Since the beginning of this year, following the guidance of the provincial party committee and the provincial government, Hengyang government has carried out the “Year of Industrial Project Construction ” plan to develop industries and strengthen entities for the real economy. In the first three quarters, Hengyang had a regional GDP of about 206 billion yuan, and its growth rate rose from the fifth to the first in the first half of this year for Hunan province.
