Hunan Governor, Xu Dazhe, visited the Wangcheng Economic and Technological Development Zone (WETDZ) on January 2, 2019, to inspect the manufacturing enterprises there. He called for deepening comprehensive reform and opening up, focusing on creating a sound environment, and stimulating the real economy. We should support private enterprise advancement, and promote high-quality manufacturing industry development, he added.

Governor Xu said, “I went to the industrial parks to visit the enterprises on the first workday of the new year. This indicates that the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the People’s Government of Hunan Province are paying close attention to industrial project construction and our confidence and determinations to revitalize the real economy.” He continued, “We should cope with the generally stable, yet still changeable, external environment and ensure steady progress. Efforts should be made in increasing industry and enterprise growth.”
“It is necessary to implement the spirit of the Central Government Economic Work Conference and, in accordance with the arrangements of CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the People’s Government of Hunan Province.” Governor Xu stated. “Industrial development is an important starting point for us on the reform and opening up path, realize high-quality development, and carry forward the innovation-oriented opening up and development strategy.” He added.
He remarked that intelligent manufacturing should be the major focus of Hunan industrial enterprises. Modern information technology and manufacturing industry should be further integrated, so as to support high-quality development with upgraded manufacturing industry.
He asked to see reform and opening up as a driving force; continue supply-side structural reform; accelerate major reform measure implementation; promote high-level opening up and development; and, accelerate the replacement of the old drivers of growth. He also requested to mobilize real economy through a quality service and excellent environment, and effectively solve the difficulties and problems faced by private enterprises in their development. He noted, “Changsha should speed up the building and improvement of the modern industrial system, gather related industries to realize common development, and amplify the radiation-driven effect, so as contribute more to the high-quality development of the province.”
