Hunan and BOC to Deepen Future Collaboration

Du Jiahao, CPC Hunan Provincial Committee secretary, and Xu Dazhe, Hunan governor, met in Changsha with Chen Siqing, CPC Bank of China (BOC) Committee secretary and BOC Board of Directors chairman, on February 14, 2019. They exchanged ideas on implementing bilateral cooperation and promoting high-quality development.

Provincial leaders Fu Kui and Xie Jianhui also attended.

Secretary Du thanked BOC for its long-term support of Hunan's economic and social development. He said, “Hunan maintained safe and sound economic progress last year. The society was harmonious and stable, the financial industry operated steadily, and financial risks prevented and controlled.” He continued, “Finance is the blood of the modern economy. Hunan is now in a critical period of replacing the old drivers of growth. Strong financial support is essential to fighting the ‘three tough battles’ of preventing and defusing financial risk, targeting poverty alleviation, and pollution control; revitalizing the real economy; and, promoting high-quality development.” He expected BOC to further support Hunan; give full play to its advantageous international network platform; expand its financial business in Hunan; build a bridge for Hunan to deepen its opening up; increase financial support for Hunan private economy progress; and, inject financial power into the replacement of the old drivers of growth.

Secretary Chen remarked that Hunan's location advantage has recently become increasingly prominent, and provincial economic and social development is gratifying. He promised to strengthen cooperation with Hunan, increase financial support for the real economy, private economy, and especially small and medium-sized enterprises. BOC will assist Hunan in opening up, preventing financial risks, and getting rid of poverty. This will better serve provincial economic and social growth, he added.
