Hunan Attracts More Overseas Chinese, Hong Kong and Macau Investors

The Fourth Plenary Session of the Seventh Provincial Committee of Hunan Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese was held on the morning of February 18. It announced that 20 billion CNY of contracted investment was introduced from companies funded by overseas Chinese, Hong Kong, and Macau, with the aid of federations of returned overseas Chinese at all levels across Hunan.

In 2018, the federations of returned overseas Chinese at all levels fully exerted their unique advantages and functions to support Hunan's "innovation-driven opening up and development strategy”. Efforts were made to create an economic and technological work brand of “Starting up Business in China and Thriving Business in Hunan”. More than 70,000 overseas Chinese, Hong Kong and Macao compatriots, overseas high-level talents, and international students from all over the world visited Hunan.

The Hunan Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and the Yongzhou Municipal People’s Government jointly organized the 12th Hunan · Yangming Mountain “He (Harmony)” Cultural Tourism Festival and the Overseas Chinese Merchants Visiting Yongzhou. Seven projects were signed on the site, with an investment of 7.2 billion CNY. The Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese of Xiangtan, Yongzhou, Hengyang, Changde facilitated the signing of the 5-billion-yuan Xiangtan Causeway Bay Urban Complex Project, the 4.5-billion-yuan Ningyuan Causeway Bay Plaza Project, and the 2.2-billion-yuan Hengdong Causeway Bay Urban Complex and Cultural Tourism Project, and the 330-million-yuan Changde Innovation Biomedical Project.

Beyond that, the Hunan Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese has made extensive initiatives to attract overseas talents. The federation reelected its specially appointed experts committee, introduced 123 experts at home and abroad to strengthen its high-end think tank, and promoted a number of high-tech projects and overseas high-level talents to settle in Hunan.
