Lei Feng is China’s iconic soldier who embodied selflessness and died during an accident at the age of 22 in 1962. The next year, the late Chairman Mao Zedong encouraged the whole nation to learn from Lei’s passion for helping others and his devotion to work, and March 5 of every year is designated “Learn from Lei Feng Day”. The year 2019 marks the 56th anniversary of the start of the “Learning from Lei Feng” campaign.
