Changde Liuye Lake International Marathon

The 2018 Chinese Athletic Association marathon press conference was held in Xiamen on March 11, 2019. It announced the 2018 Running Events Awarded with Golden, Silver and Bronze Medals.

The 2018 Changde Liuye Lake International Marathon claimed a golden medal.

Changde marathon course around the Liuye Lake is the only professional racing track in China. It has low altitude, and is flat and athlete-friendly. The course enjoys beautiful scenery because it is built around the Liuye Lake, one of China’s largest urban lakes. From the perspective of environmental protection and health, it is the priority choice for marathon events.

Tu Bibo, vice mayor of the Changde Municipal People's Government, said that marathon is not only good for physical fitness, but also functioned as a carrier of cultural communication, a booster for urban economic development, and a new profile of urban civilization. Tu added, “Changde introduces itself to the public through sports competitions, and presents an open, energetic, enthusiastic and hospitable city image to the world.

Changde Liuye Lake International Marathon was hosted by the Chinese Athletic Association, the Hunan Provincial Sports Bureau and the Changde Municipal People's Government.
