Maglev Track Intelligent Inspection Vehicle Rolls off Production Line

The domestically-made inspection vehicle filled the gap of China’s dynamic intelligent detection equipment for medium-low-speed maglev lines. The upgraded vehicle replaced manual inspection with the intelligent operation.

The vehicle has a length of 5.81 meters, a width of 2.6 meters and a height of 2.97 meters. It can be operated by only one person and can carry 6 maintenance workers.

CRCHI technician Shi Tianliang related that usually maglev track inspection is only operated at night. It takes about one month to finish manual inspection of the 5-kilometer line. When an intelligent inspection vehicle is put into use, the inspection time will be shortened to one night.

The intelligent inspection vehicle is powered by new energy and hybrid traction system, which is environmentally friendly and highly reliable. It operates at a speed of 5 kilometers per hour and operates at a maximum speed of 25 kilometers per hour. The vehicle was jointly developed by CRCHI, Changsha Metro Group Co., Ltd. and Hunan Maglev Development Co., Ltd.
