The 2019 Spring Tea Gathering of the Changsha Association of Taiwan-invested Enterprises was held on April 9. Tan Xiaoping, CPC Changsha Municipal Committee Standing Committee member and United Front Work Department director; Wang Pingsheng, president of the Association of Taiwan Investment Enterprises on the Mainland (ATIEM); and Hou Tsai-feng, KMT Central Standing Committee member, attended. Tan Xiaoping met with Hou Tsai-feng and her delegation before the gathering. Tan related that Changsha has recently adjusted its industrial structure, and pillar industries such as construction machinery have taken shape. Meanwhile, the city has greatly optimized its business environment and enhanced people’s sense of gain and happiness. He hoped that Changsha and Taiwan will further strengthen exchanges in economy and trade, culture, and sports, and jointly promote cross-Straits peaceful development. At the gathering, Tan recounted that, currently, there are nearly 700 Taiwan-invested enterprises in Changsha. Changsha will create a first-class business environment for every investor, including Taiwan businessmen, so as to realize high-quality development. Hou said she had visited many places on the Chinese Mainland before and felt that Changsha had made great progress. She said that the two sides of the Taiwan Straits share the same culture and origin, and on the basis of adhering to the 1992 Consensus, more cooperation can be made in various forms and fields, so as to benefit the people on both sides of the Straits.
