African youth in Hunan: I am learning agricultural technologies in China

春耕时节，长沙城郊的一片油菜地繁花似海，非洲小伙子楚柯和同学钻进花丛，观察油菜花萼片和花蕊，并在笔记本上记录数据。

During the spring plowing season, the young man and his classmates observed the rapeseed flowers and recorded the data in a notebook.

25岁的楚柯来自喀麦隆，是湖南农业大学工学院农业机械化工程专业的在读研究生。

Chu Ke (Chinese name)，a 25-year-old young man from Cameroon, is a graduate student in the major of agricultural mechanization engineering at the College of Engineering, Hunan Agricultural University.

近年来，不少中国企业将先进的农业技术和装备带到喀麦隆，帮助楚柯的家乡进行农业现代化建设。目睹了中国现代化农业科技的力量，楚柯决心远赴中国求学。

In recent years, many Chinese companies have brought advanced agricultural technologies and types of equipment to Cameroon to help Chu Ke's hometown to carry out agricultural modernization. Chu Ke determined to go to China to study.

2017年，在喀麦隆完成本科学业后，楚柯如愿留学中国，攻读湖南农业大学农业机械化工程专业硕士。

After completing his undergraduate studies in Cameroon, he came to China and pursue a master's degree in agricultural mechanization engineering at Hunan Agricultural University in 2017.

在湖南农业大学里，楚柯主攻农业机械化自动化、现代生物学、现代农业经营管理、农业科技推广等专业课程。来中国留学两年，楚柯不仅能说一口流利的中文，还学会了操作20多种农业设备，掌握了农业信息化管理方法，逐渐成为一名复合型现代化农业人才。楚柯说，回喀麦隆后要把在中国学到的知识运用到家乡的农业生产中，做一名非洲新农民。

In Hunan Agricultural University, he studies in agricultural mechanization automation, modern biology, modern agricultural management, agricultural science and other professional courses. After studying in China for two years, Chu Ke not only speaks Chinese but also learns to operate more than 20 kinds of agricultural equipment by mastering the agricultural information management methods. He gradually becomes a modern agricultural talent. He said that after returning to Cameroon, he should apply the knowledge in his hometown and become a farmer of the new era.

近年来，越来越多的非洲留学生来到湖南各高校就读，专业涵盖农学、医学、工商管理、土木工程等。他们在学习专业知识的同时，感受中国文化的魅力，与中国师生结下了深厚的友谊。

In recent years, more African students have come to colleges and universities in Hunan. Their majors cover agronomy, medicine, business administration, civil engineering, etc.. Meanwhile, they have experienced Chinese culture and have established a profound friendship with Chinese teachers and students.
