Yiyang Keeps Water Bodies Clean

The photo above, taken on April 14, 2019, shows the Xiufeng Lake surrounded by pristine water and green trees in Heshan District, Yiyang City. The “city of silver” has recently promoted the water cleaning action. It has established a four-level “hezhangzhi” (river chief system) at the city, county, township, and village levels. Water pollution prevention and control work has also been included in the system. Thirteen of fourteen black odorous water bodies have been eliminated in the urban built-up area. And the excellent water quality rate of surface water sections has reached 83.3%. The water quality of drinking water sources has reached Class III water quality standards of Surface Water Environmental Quality Standards.
