In recent years, Xia Bolan and her husband have actively done the work of bonding Hunan Province their hometown and Germany. They brought German experts' idea of building “sponge city” by waters resource management for Changde City, and they designed Hanover Street a German-style tourism spot with Hanover coffee workshops in Changde city. The Hanover element promotes the exchanges and cooperation between the two cities.
"What I think of is how to use Hunan's resources and regional advantages for improving international cooperation, to help Hunan to global, and to introduce advanced resources to help Hunan's international development," Xia told reporters about her goals.
"And I will, as always, serve as a bridge for the good of my hometown," Xia said.
