Twenty-seven cultural relics in Changsha were included in the recently issued list of Hunan's cultural relic protection sites.
Among the 269 provincial newly-protected cultural relics, there are 33 ancient ruins, nine ancient tombs, 84 ancient buildings, four grotto temples and stone inscriptions, and 137 representative buildings in modern and contemporary history.
Those newly-added in Changsha include one ancient relic, one ancient tomb, three ancient buildings, one grotto, and 21 representative buildings in modern and contemporary history.
During recent years, the Changsha municipal Party committee and the local government have attached great importance to cultural heritage protection. The eighth round of national key cultural heritage sites application is ongoing, which will upgrade Changsha's cultural relics in rank and increase them in number.
