The list of top 100 Chinese cities by GDP was announced recently. Five Hunan cities made the list, including Changsha, Yueyang, Changde, Hengyang, and Zhuzhou. Changsha’s GDP reached 55.38 billion CNY in the first half of this year, with a growth rate of 8.2% and ranking 14th on the list. Yueyang, Changde, Hengyang, and Zhuzhou ranked 72nd, 73rd, 92nd, and 95th respectively. Hengyang’s GDP growth reached 8.3%, higher than that of Changsha. The list also included 15 cities in Shandong, 13 in Jiangxu, 11 in Guangdong, 8 in Zhejiang, 7 in Henan, and 6 in Hebei. Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Tianjin, and Chongqing all have a GDP hitting one trillion CNY in the first half of this year.
