In the hot summer, Mr. Feng, a farmer in Dao county, Hunan, China is harvesting lotus roots by man power. He can harvest 100,500 kilos of fresh lotus roots on his transferred land of 100 mu (1mu=666.66666666667m²). That means, the total yield is about RMB 600,000 yuan.

The only way to get lotus roots is to harvest it by man power. No matter how large a lake is, lotus root can not be harvested by machine. It’s really hard work to get a complete lotus root out.
