Laos-China TVET Training Center Established in Vientiane

  The “Laos-China TVET Training Center” was established in Vientiane recently, according to the Changsha Social Work College on September 25. It marked that China’s only such official training center for China-Laos vocational education cooperation in Laos was put into operation.

  The center will achieve two-way coordination and seamless integration with the "China-Laos TVET Training Center" founded in Hunan this April, in order to build a China-Laos community of vocational education. This will provide strong technical personnel training support for Laos’ economic and social development.

  Kongsy Sengmany, vice-minister of the Education and Sports of Lao PDR, said that the two centers will help enhance technical personnel cultivation in Laos, facilitate the country's economic and social development, and improve people's ability of getting employed and living standards.

  At present, there are nearly 300 Lao students studying in Hunan. Wang Guishu, deputy director of the Hunan Provincial Department of Education, said that Hunan, with the support of the two centers, will strengthen education cooperation and exchanges with Laos, organize more college educational cooperation projects in Laos, and give more support to Laos’ education.
