Changsha Demonstration Zone for Intelligent Driving Opens

　　Hu Zhongxiong, deputy secretary of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee, Changsha mayor, and secretary of the CPC Working Committee of the Xiangjiang New Area of Hunan Province, announced the opening of the Changsha Demonstration Zone for intelligent driving on open urban roads, on the morning of September 26, 2019.

　　The zone allows both the intelligent connected vehicles and ordinary vehicles to run on the public roads within the designated 100-sqm urban area, and 100-km smart expressways.

　　The 100-km smart expressways include the Changsha-Yiyang Expressway expansion section (a new expressway connecting Changsha and Yiyang in parallel with the existing Changsha-Yiyang Expressway), and the northwest section of the Changsha Belt Expressway, 93 km in total.

　　The 100-sqm urban area covers the Artificial Intelligence Technology Town in the Xiangjiang Intelligent Valley, Meixi Lake, Yanghu Lake, Dawang Mountain, and the Changsha Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone. The total length of public roads in the area reached 135 km.

　　This marks Changsha’s stride into a new era of intelligent driving, and a leap forward to build itself into the “first intelligent driving city”.
