Changsha Symphony Orchestra Performs in Ukraine

　　The Changsha Symphony Orchestra made its debut performance at the Ukrainian International Cultural and Art Center on the evening of November 3, local time. It was part of the orchestra’s “Authentic China” touring show along “Belt and Road” countries.

　　The audience included: representatives of Kiev Cultural and Tourism Department; manager of the Ukrainian Modern Symphony Orchestra; representatives of the National Opera House of Ukraine; director of the Music Department of the National Pedagogical Dragomanov University; vice president of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory; president of the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts; manager of the National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet; Ukrainian art school students; and, representatives of Ukraine’s Chinese-invested companies and Chinese students.

　　The performance was conducted by Mr. Xiao Ming, a national first-class conductor, head and music director of the Changsha Symphony Orchestra. Famous violinist Lao Li served as soloist. Before the concert began, the audience chorused the national anthems of China and Ukraine.

　　The Changsha Symphony Orchestra performed classic pieces of music "Ode to the Red Flag", violin concerto "Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai" which often described as China's "Romeo and Juliet",  and Tchaikovsky's "Fourth Symphony".

　　The orchestra encored three times. It played world-famous classical orchestral music "Jasmine" representing traditional Chinese culture, "Liuyang River" featuring Hunan culture, and the passionate and joyful "Good News from Beijing to Border Villages”. The performances won warm applause from the audience.

　　Wu Youyun, member of the Presidium of the Chinese Culture Promotion Society and Chairman of the Hunan Performance Group, led a delegation to visit orchestras and dance troupes at the Ukrainian International Cultural and Art Center. The delegates talked with general manager of the center.
