Hunan Scientific and Technological Awarding Ceremony Held

A ceremony to honor scientific and technological innovations opens in Changsha on June 10, 2020.

An annual ceremony to honor scientific and technological innovations was held in Changsha on June 10. Du Jiahao, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, presented award certificates to the winners. Xu Dazhe, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and Hunan governor, delivered a speech. They met with the representatives of the winners before the ceremony.

Wu Lan, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, presided over the ceremony. Provincial leaders Wang Shaofeng, Xie Jianhui, Zhang Jianfei, Liu Lianyu, Zhu Zhongming, and He Anjie, and President of the National University of Defense Technology Li Xiang, and President of the Central South University Tian Hongqi, were present.

The 2019 awards for scientific and technological innovations were granted. Among the 287 winners (groups and individuals), there are 74 for natural science, 26 for technological invention, 180 for technological progress, 3 for scientific and technological innovation teams, and 3 for international scientific and technological cooperation.

Zhou Honghao, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and also a lifetime professor of the Xiangya Hospital of Central South University, won the outstanding contribution award. He, and Prof. Liu Xun from Hunan University, addressed the ceremony representing the winners.
