Summer Museum Night kicks off in Slovenia

LJUBLJANA, June 21 (Xinhua) -- Over 60 museums and galleries in more than 50 Slovenian cities and towns opened their doors on Saturday night for the 18th Summer Museum Night.

The Summer Museum Night, held by the Slovenian Museums Association, usually takes place on the third Saturday in June every year from 6 p.m. local time to midnight.

"Summer Museum Night is an opportunity to remind people how beautiful and interesting it is here," said Aleksandra Berberih Slana, head of the organization.

This year's event followed the recommendations and guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19, she said.

In addition to night tours of museum collections and exhibitions, different concerts and workshops were held, she added.

Most museums in Slovenia have reopened since May 4 after easing COVID-19 restrictive measures. Enditem
