Ming, Qing dynasty portrait show opens in Beijing

An exhibition of portraits from the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties collected by the National Museum of China opened to the public in Beijing starting July 15. More than 50 portraits from the Ming and Qing dynasties are displayed in this exhibition. The audience can not only have a glimpse of the portraits in the museum, but also gain an understanding of portraits across the two dynasties. Reportedly, there are nearly 1,000 portraits from the Ming and Qing Dynasties in the museum encompassing much variety, such as portraits of emperors and royal families, famous officials, celebrities, ladies and scholars.
