On July 16, Hunan Governor Xu Dazhe chaired the leadership group meeting on the fishing ban in the key area of the Yangtze River basin in Changsha.

He asked to study the spirit of the important instructions made by President Xi Jinping; follow the decisions of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council; implement the requirements of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee; and, make the fishing ban and fishermen’s bidding farewell to nets and boats more pragmatic and effective, contributing to the green development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.

The meeting listened a report from the Hunan Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs on the drafting of the “1 plus 4” implementation plan for the ban and fishermen’s bidding farewell to nets and boats in key waters of the Yangtze River basin. Each member unit put forward opinions and suggestions on related work.
