Since 2015, after five years of targeted poverty alleviation, Hunan FOC has lifted 158, 629 out of 160 poverty-stricken households in the village, with a comprehensive poverty incidence of 0.17%. This year, it will be lifted out of poverty in an all-round way.

In 2016, in response to the call of the Central Committee and the Provincial Party Committee, Hunan FOC launched the targeted poverty alleviation project "Thousands of Overseas Chinese help thousands of families", integrated the resources of the overseas Chinese community, gave full play to the advantages of overseas Chinese associations at all levels, and made every effort to fulfill their responsibilities and actively help the whole province lift itself out of poverty.

In 2017, overseas Chinese from home and abroad were mobilized to donate more than 20 million yuan for the flood disaster in Hunan.

By August 2020, Hunan FOC had launched 172 industrial skills assistance projects and 323 infrastructure assistance projects, benefiting 25,300 people in basic education, 99,784 people in health care, and 56,121 people in sympathy and assistance, totaling more than 1.6 billion yuan in poverty alleviation.

Cao Yuxiang, head of Chitan Village, told reporters that the outbreak this year has hindered the sale of agricultural products, and Hunan FOC helped the villagers find a solution as soon as possible.

On the one hand, Hunan FOC actively connected with each other to help expand the sales market and ensure the sales of the industry in the village. On the other hand, it innovated ways and methods to invite experts and scholars to develop new sales channels. At the end of 2016, Hunan FOC signed an agreement with local entrepreneurs to establish Hunan Jinzixian Ecological Tourism Development Co., LTD., actively exploring the new industrial poverty alleviation mode of "company + base + cooperative + capable person + poor households", connecting a total of 636 poor households and increasing their annual income by 800 yuan.

At the same time, combined with the local realities, Hunan FOC built chicken farms in Yifengyuan Villa, duck farms in Chitan Prefecture, cattle farms with 100 heads in stock, sheep farms with 150 heads, etc., bringing an annual income of 15,000 yuan to seven impoverished households. Planting kiwifruit 30 mu, vegetable demonstration base 100 mu, more than 300 mu of fructus aurantii, 170 mu of camellia oil, solve the poor working population 200 people, annual income 1200 yuan.

At the same time, with the guidance and help of Hunan FOC, Chitan Village also made full use of the 480,000 photovoltaic power generation funds and becomes a shareholder of Anren Photovoltaic Poverty Alleviation Co., LTD., with an annual guaranteed income of 10% (about 48,000 yuan/year). Anren County Kangli Goose Industry Co., LTD was introduced. The contract system invested 530,000 yuan, and the village collective earned 50,000 yuan per year.

In 2018, the economic income of the village collective reached 166,000 yuan.

Chitan village has succeeded in taking off the "hat" of the poor village. The village with a weak foundation has turned into a small village with a new industry. The annual per capita net income of farmers in the village rose 63 percent to 5,900 yuan in 2018. From 2017 to 2020, all poverty-stricken families in the village signed a family doctor agreement with Guanwang Central Hospital in Jinzixian Town, and the agreement was fully covered.

"We'll never quit until we've won everything." Huang Fang, secretary of the Party Group of Hunan FOC, said that overseas Chinese in the province were determined to win the battle against poverty and make new contributions to the fight against poverty in Hunan.
