Hunan FOC held a donation ceremony in Chitan Village

The donation ceremony of "Gathering Overseas Chinese to Help Rural Revitalization" jointly held by Hunan FOC, Hunan Overseas Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Hunan Overseas Chinese Public Welfare Foundation.

On October 30, the donation ceremony of "Gathering Overseas Chinese to Help rural revitalization" was held in Chitan Village, Anren County, Chenzhou city jointly by Hunan FOC, Hunan Overseas Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Hunan Overseas Chinese Public Welfare Foundation. Huang Fang, Party secretary of Hunan FOC, Wang Heping, Chenzhou Municipal Standing Committee and united Front Work Department minister, attended and made speech. Li Wencai, curator of Hunan Institute of Culture and History of the Party, attended the event. Sun Minsheng, member of the CPC Leading Group and vice chairman of Hunan FOC, presided over the donation ceremony.

At the donation ceremony, cadres of Hunan FOC, Hunan Overseas Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Hunan Overseas Chinese Public Welfare Foundation donated more than 1 million yuan. The donation would be used for the construction of The Overseas Chinese Love Square, Overseas Chinese Love Cultural Center, "Lighting Up The Chitan", demolishing the old and dangerous buildings and other projects.

Zhuang Qining, vice chairman of Hunan FOC and President of Hunan Overseas Chinese Chamber of Commerce, said that the donation activity was a concrete measure for the chamber of Commerce to give full play to its advantages and implement the tough fight against poverty. It was a good deed for all the entrepreneurs to shoulder social responsibilities, appreciate the society and repay the society. He hoped that the villagers of Chitan would continue to carry forward the spirit of hard work, cherish the care and solicitude of the loving people from all walks of life, and build a beautiful and happy home.

Mao Binghua, vice President of Hunan FOC, vice director of provincial overseas Chinese public foundation, said that the 1 million yuan donated by Hunan Overseas Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Hunan Overseas Chinese Public Welfare Foundation, aimed to promote infrastructure of the village,which was a positive response to the "thousands of overseas Chinese help object" project.

Huang Fang, expressed gratitude to Hunan Overseas Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Hunan Overseas Chinese Public Welfare Foundation, and overseas Chinese communities for carrying out donation activities in Chitan Village, and congratulated on the great progress made in poverty alleviation in Chitan Village. She pointed out that it was a major strategic decision and plan made by the CPC Central Committee and provincial party committees to fight the tough fight against poverty and complete the building of a moderately prosperous society in all respects. The Leading Party Group of Hunan FOC attached great importance to the work of assisting villages and always regarded this work as a political task to promote. The charitable donation would contribute to the development of Chitan Village as an "Overseas Chinese Federation", which would comprehensively improve the sustainable economic and environmental development level of Chitan Village. It was hoped that Chitan Village would continue to forge ahead, accelerate the pace of construction, and build into a "provincial model of beautiful villages" as soon as possible.

It was understood that over the past five years, under the correct leadership of the Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government, with the strong support of the township and village levels of the city, county and village, and with the joint efforts of all the villagers, the work of Hunan FOC in the villages has been carried out in an orderly manner and achieved remarkable results. Chitan village has invested more than 30 million yuan in various infrastructure construction, the village got brand-new outfit, and the happiness index of the masses has been greatly improved. By 2020, 160 poverty-stricken households in the village would be lifted out of poverty. From 2017 to 2019, the poverty Alleviation Team stationed in the village has been rated as "Excellent Team" in the assessment of the provincial village Office.

He Donglin, member of the Standing Committee of Anren County Party Committee and director of the organization Department, relevant representatives of Overseas Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Overseas Chinese Public Welfare Foundation of Anren County, relevant officers of FOC of Anren County, heads of Chenzhou FOC, and about 120 people from Jinzixian Town and Chitan Village attended the donation ceremony.
